We Do Caravans Really Well!
This month would have been the start of our third year of membership to the Camping and Caravan Club. Although a late call, we decided early Friday morning that it would be silly to even attempt taking the van out when Thelwall and Barton high level bridges reportedly closed to high sided vehicles and on a couple of exposed stretches of the M6 gusts were reaching 65 MPH according to the local weather.
Great I thought.

Camping and caravan sites will be reopening from July 4. The Camping and Caravanning Club shared the news on its website this week. While the majority of sites will reopen if all goes to plan, the club said that 26 of the sites will likely remain closed. Measures they are looking to implement include contactless check-in which will be facilitated by Auto Balance Collect. As for social distancing, pitches have six-metre spacing and the club will reduce the number of people on Club Sites with facility blocks so they can manage demand.
There also will be signs and floor markings as a common-sense reminder to keep two metres from other people. Communal areas such as receptions, shops, laundries and play areas will remain closed although washing up stations will be open. However, the relaunch comes with a number of strict coronavirus measures. Toilet and shower facilities will only be opened if they get the go-ahead from the government.
